Why CVRCA, Restoration Needs:
The Clark Veterans Cemetery is currently maintained by the volunteer efforts of VFW Post 285 and while this effort is commendable it is also limited.
The current state of the cemetery is a result of years of neglect after the US military left the Philippines, compounded by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption of 1991. Obtaining the necessary labor and funds required to restore the veterans cemetery is only half the battle as without maintenance and proper administration under an agency of the US government the cemetery would once again fall into disgrace and disrepair. What is required is the political will to take ownership of this forgotten veterans cemetery and restore it to the proper state of other overseas veteran cemeteries under the auspices of the US government.
